The former women’s champion reunited with Rebel during an emotional night on Dynamite.

Britt Baker made a successful return to the ring during the September 9 episode of AEW Dynamite.
The former AEW Women’s World Champion teamed with Hikaru Shida and double champion Persephone against Thunder Rosa, Hyan, and Maya World in a six-woman tag team match.
Baker had already appeared earlier in the show for the return of The Waiting Room. Rebel joined her for the segment, bringing back the chemistry and humor that became an important part of Baker’s AEW character.
Rebel later appeared at ringside during the match and handed Baker her familiar medical glove as she prepared to finish Hyan.
Hyan nearly caught Baker with a roll-up, but Baker escaped before the referee completed the count. She immediately responded by locking in the Lockjaw and pointing toward Rebel.
Hyan tapped out, giving Baker, Shida, and Persephone the victory. The submission allowed Baker to score the deciding fall in her first match since November 2024.
Baker and Rebel shared an emotional celebration after the bell. Baker climbed onto Rebel’s electric wheelchair before the two headed up the entrance ramp together.
The moment allowed AEW to celebrate its history while also marking Baker’s return to active competition. Her first match back included the glove, the Lockjaw, and a victory alongside one of her closest allies.
It remains to be seen what AEW has planned for Baker following her comeback. For one night, the former champion returned to a familiar role and reminded fans why she became one of the company’s leading women’s stars.
