AJ Styles has picked up a new role outside the wrestling ring.

The WWE veteran revealed on The Phenomenally Retro Podcast that he can now legally officiate weddings. Styles also confirmed that his first ceremony is already lined up.

“I can marry people now. That’s right.”

Styles said the request came from one of his closest friends, someone he has known since college. His friend’s daughter is getting married, and Styles agreed to handle the ceremony.

“One of my best friends, who I went to college with—we’ve been close ever since then—his daughter is getting married, and she needed somebody to marry them. Here I go. I’m going to be the guy.”

Styles is not treating the job like a joke. He said he plans to attend two weddings before officiating the ceremony so he can study how everything works and make sure he gets the wording right.

“I’ve got two weddings that I’m going to see before I actually do the one that I’m doing. I’m going to make sure I get all my words correct and everything like that.”

The former WWE Champion also joked about how easy the process was. He said there was no difficult class or long licensing process involved.

“I’d love to tell you how hard it is to be able to marry people, as far as getting your license or whatever it is that you get, but it’s just filling it out online.”

Styles admitted that he still needs to watch some videos and learn what to say during the ceremony. Still, he sounded confident that he could figure it out.

“I’m going to have to watch videos on how to do this stuff and what to say. Surely I can figure it out.”

Speaking in front of people should not be a major issue for Styles. After years of performing in packed arenas, he joked that the wedding crowd would probably not reach 10,000.

“I don’t know how many people are going to be there, but I’m sure it’s not 10,000 people. I’ve been able to speak in front of that many people before, so I think it’ll be okay.”

Styles also floated the idea of wrestling-themed weddings once the building he is developing is finished. He made it clear that nothing is official, but the idea is at least on his mind.

“Maybe, if you want to have a wrestling wedding, hopefully when my building’s done, here we are. Not saying it’s going to happen. I’m just throwing it out there.”

AJ Styles has created plenty of memorable moments in wrestling. Now he is getting ready to help create a major life moment for someone else.
