Two championships and a Street Fight lead tonight’s lineup
Summary
– Chelsea Green defends the WWE Women’s Championship against Roxanne Perez
– Giulia faces Blake Monroe in a Street Fight
– Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley put their tag team titles on the line
Chelsea Green’s path to Crown Jewel runs through Roxanne Perez on tonight’s episode of SmackDown. The October 23 show features two championship matches as WWE continues building toward its next Premium Live Event.
Green defends the WWE Women’s Championship against Perez, who earned this opportunity by defeating her in a non-title match on Raw. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez helped Perez secure that victory, giving the champion another reason to watch for Judgment Day interference.
The result could also change the women’s champion-versus-champion match at Crown Jewel. Green is currently positioned to face Women’s World Champion Morgan, but losing her championship would put that matchup in question.
Giulia and Blake Monroe will renew their rivalry in a Street Fight. Monroe won their previous meeting during her SmackDown in-ring debut, but their issues have continued. Tonight’s stipulation gives both women considerably more freedom to settle the score.
Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley also defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Michin and B-Fab. The new champions have an opportunity to establish their partnership, while their challengers could bring an early end to the reign.
Meanwhile, WWE Tag Team Champions MFT face Bakusai in a non-title match. Haku will back the champions as Shinsuke Nakamura and Kyoki look to gain ground against them.
Tonight’s confirmed lineup includes:
– WWE Women’s Championship: Chelsea Green (c) vs. Roxanne Perez
– Street Fight: Giulia vs. Blake Monroe
– WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley (c) vs. Michin & B-Fab
– Non-title match: MFT vs. Bakusai
SmackDown takes place at Toyota Arena in Ontario, California. The broadcast begins at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT on USA Network in the United States. International viewers can watch through Netflix in applicable markets.
