Sol Ruca Reveals Sol Snatcher Origins and Money in the Bank Pressure

Her gymnastics background inspired the finisher that helps her stand out

Summary

– Sol Ruca adapted an uneven-bars move into the Sol Snatcher

– She recalled the distance involved in her Money in the Bank dive onto Lash Legend

– Ruca admitted feeling pressure to deliver something different on the main roster

Sol Ruca’s Sol Snatcher started with a gymnastics skill and a clear goal. She wanted a distinctive finisher that reflected her athletic background and could work against different opponents, even when she was exhausted.

Speaking on The Finish, Ruca explained that she drew inspiration from a move she previously performed on the uneven bars.

“There is a gymnastics move I used to do on the uneven bars, which was called a straddle back. And it’s essentially the same sort of flipping motion, where it’s like a reverse gainer. And now, instead of catching the bar, I’m catching humans, and that’s kind of how it came to be.”

Ruca said gymnastics helped develop her body control and ring awareness, while acrobatics taught her how to work closely with another person, including catching and supporting them.

Her abilities have occasionally prompted suggestions that go beyond what she can physically accomplish. Ruca recalled people at NXT proposing moves as though they were creating a video game character. Although some ideas were impossible, those conversations sometimes inspired alternatives she could perform.

The interview also covered her Money in the Bank ladder dive onto Lash Legend. Ruca admitted the distance looked considerably greater once she reached her launch point.

“I wouldn’t say hesitation, but definitely when I got on the post I was like, oh my god, she’s so far away. But I was like, well, I’m already up here. I have to do this.”

Ruca described the sequence as one of the coolest things she has done and said she was pleased with how it looked and how the crowd responded.

However, she acknowledged feeling pressure heading into the match. With fans familiar with her previous ladder matches in NXT, she wanted to offer something different to a larger main-roster audience.

That expectation has encouraged her to keep developing her offense. Ruca said she remains confident she has ideas fans have not yet seen, adding that wrestling’s opportunities for growth are among the things she enjoys most.
