Alexa Bliss and Randy Orton returned to in-ring competition on August 13

Alexa Bliss and Randy Orton both returned to in-ring competition during WWE’s August 13 live event, giving the show two significant comeback matches.
Bliss teamed with Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton to defeat Fatal Influence members Lainey Reid, Jacy Jayne, and Fallon Henley. Although Bliss continued wearing a wrap around her injured arm, she was cleared to compete and completed her first match in more than a month.
Her previous match took place on the July 10 episode of WWE SmackDown. An arm injury suffered during an encounter with Jade Cargill then forced Bliss away from competition.
Bliss returned to WWE television the previous Friday when she helped Charlotte against Cargill. She also welcomed Tatum Paxley to SmackDown, but the August 13 event marked her actual return to wrestling.
Orton returned to action later that night when he faced Cody Rhodes in a street fight during the main event. The match ended a lengthy absence for The Viper, who had not competed since WrestleMania 42.
Rhodes defeated Orton at WrestleMania before the former world champion disappeared from WWE programming. Orton resurfaced at SummerSlam and immediately targeted his longtime friend.
Orton interfered, costing Rhodes the Undisputed WWE Championship and renewing their personal issues. Their street fight allowed Orton to step back into the ring against the same man he had attacked upon his return.
With Bliss overcoming her arm injury and Orton ending his absence from competition, WWE’s August 13 live event delivered two noteworthy in-ring returns on the same night.
