The August 21 show gains three more additions ahead of a loaded championship-heavy lineup
Summary
– Blake Monroe will make her full-time main roster in-ring debut against Giulia
– Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga will defend the WWE Tag Team Titles against Damian Priest and R-Truth
– Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton are also scheduled to appear on the August 21 SmackDown
WWE has added three more attractions to the August 21 episode of SmackDown, including Blake Monroe’s first match as a full-time main roster star.
Monroe will make her official main roster in-ring debut against Giulia. She has already begun appearing on SmackDown, but Friday night will mark her first match since making the full-time move.
The WWE Tag Team Championships will also be defended, with Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga putting the titles on the line against Damian Priest and R-Truth. The champions won the belts last week by defeating Priest and Truth, along with The Viking Raiders, in a Triple Threat Match.
Priest and Truth will not have to wait long for another opportunity, as they will receive their rematch in just seven days.
Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton are also scheduled to appear after their issues boiled over last week. Their confrontation prevented Cody’s planned match with Sami Zayn from ever getting started, adding another major storyline to Friday’s show.
The August 21 SmackDown will be headlined by CM Punk defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens.
The current lineup also includes a match between Giulia and Blake Monroe, the WWE Tag Team Championship match, and appearances by Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.
With Monroe’s main roster debut, another tag team title defense, and Punk defending against Owens, WWE has stacked Friday night’s show with several major matches and storyline developments.
