Tyler Breeze has finally clarified exactly when his long-running connection to WWE came to an end.
Speaking with The Certified Mark Show, Breeze revealed that his contract technically expired at the start of August 2026, closing a 16-year relationship with the company.
Breeze was asked whether he would be interested in joining AEW if Tony Khan reached out. He quickly said yes before explaining that his former WWE agreement is no longer standing in the way of another opportunity.
WWE released Breeze from its active roster in June 2021, but he continued working with the company under a rare arrangement.
That agreement allowed Breeze to remain involved with WWE while also wrestling on the independent scene and accepting third-party opportunities.
Breeze continued to appear through projects such as UpUpDownDown, worked behind the scenes as a coach, and also returned for NXT-related appearances.
He described the contract as a one-of-a-kind deal and credited people inside WWE with helping get it approved.
Breeze also said he does not expect WWE to offer another agreement quite like it.
His comments help explain some of the confusion surrounding his status after he stopped appearing as a regular WWE wrestler.
That uncertainty resurfaced on September 1, when a social media user claimed Breeze was still under contract with WWE. Breeze responded that it was no longer the case.
He has now confirmed that while his active roster run ended years ago, his official contractual relationship with WWE continued until the beginning of August.
Breeze says he is not retired and remains interested in wrestling for other promotions.
AEW, TNA, and Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling are among the companies he has expressed openness toward, meaning Prince Pretty is now free to consider opportunities without his former WWE agreement attached.
