Trick Williams picked up a non-title win over The Miz on WWE SmackDown.
The match started with Williams using his power to send Miz to the outside early. Miz recovered by hanging Williams across the ropes and targeting the United States Champion’s back.
Miz kept Williams grounded and leaned into the crowd reaction as fans chanted at him. Williams fired back with a neckbreaker before building momentum with strikes in the corner.
The match shifted when Kit Wilson attacked Williams from behind on the outside. Miz took advantage and kept control while also taunting Lil Yachty and Williams’ family at ringside.
Williams fought back after the break and used several scoop slams to regain control. Miz survived and later hit the Skull Crushing Finale, but Williams kicked out at two.
Wilson tried to help Miz again by distracting the referee as Miz grabbed a kendo stick. Lil Yachty pulled the weapon away and hit Wilson with it before Miz could use it.
That opening allowed Williams to connect with the Trick Shot for the pinfall victory. The win gave the United States Champion another strong moment in front of his hometown crowd.
