– Khan praised both wrestlers but did not confirm any talks or future AEW plans
Tony Khan has responded to speculation that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods may join AEW.
During the ROH Supercard of Honor post-show media scrum, Khan was asked about the former New Day stars. He declined to speak directly about signing them, saying he believed they may still have contractual obligations.
Khan also said he did not think he was allowed to talk to them under the current circumstances. He kept his public comments limited, but still praised both wrestlers as great talents.
The remarks come as reports continue to point to strong interest inside AEW. Several names associated with the company have also referenced the duo online, which has only drawn more attention to the rumors.
Kingston and Woods recently confirmed their WWE departures after years as part of The New Day. Outside WWE, Woods is expected to use the Austin Creed name, while Kingston is expected to be billed as Kofi.
The former WWE stars already have convention appearances scheduled, including GalaxyCon. More appearances are expected as fans wait to see where they land next.
For now, AEW has not announced anything official. Khan’s response keeps the conversation alive while avoiding anything that could suggest direct contact before their status is fully clear.
