Tommy Dreamer’s time with TNA Wrestling has come to an end.
Dreamer revealed on Busted Open that he and TNA have mutually parted ways. His departure closes a long chapter with the company, where he was involved in more than occasional television appearances.
Dreamer had been working behind the scenes on the creative team. He also had a role in talent relations, giving him influence on both the direction of the product and the locker room.
His history with TNA goes back many years. Dreamer was part of the company during the EV 2.0 era in 2010, when TNA leaned into its ECW connection around Hardcore Justice.
He later returned to the promotion in different roles before becoming a steady backstage presence. Dreamer worked alongside Hunter “Delirious” Johnston on creative and helped with talent-related matters.
The timing of his exit stands out given TNA’s recent notable departures. Tessa Blanchard is reportedly gone after sources close to her claimed she requested and received her release.
Steve Maclin also confirmed that he asked for his release before TNA announced that he and Myla Grace were no longer with the company. Maclin spent five years in TNA and became a former TNA World Champion during that run.
Dreamer’s departure is different from a normal roster move because of the number of responsibilities he had behind the scenes. Losing someone with that much history and influence marks a clear shift for TNA.
There is no word yet on what Dreamer plans to do next or how TNA will replace his backstage duties. For now, another familiar name has left the company.
