TNA iMPACT! Viewership Drops Against NFL Draft Competition

Thursday night numbers fall below 200,000 viewers on AMC

Summary

– TNA iMPACT! drew 175,000 viewers on April 23 on AMC

– The audience dropped from the 212,000 viewers recorded on April 16

– The show also faced strong competition from the NFL Draft on ESPN

TNA iMPACT! saw a noticeable decline in viewership for its April 23 episode, falling below 200,000 on AMC.

According to Wrestlenomics, Thursday Night iMPACT! brought in 175,000 viewers for the April 23 broadcast. This was down from the 212,000 viewers the show recorded the previous week on April 16.

The key demographic rating also dropped. This week’s show posted a 0.03 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic, compared to the 0.05 rating from the prior episode.

One major factor in the decline was strong outside competition, as the episode aired opposite the NFL Draft on ESPN. The annual event traditionally draws a large television audience and is likely to have impacted wrestling viewership throughout the night.

Despite the decline in television, TNA continued generating online attention through its YouTube content. The most viewed video from the week was the full World Title match between Mike Santana and Rich Swann, which reached 50,000 views.

Other strong performers included Xia Brookside, who explained her betrayal of Léi Yǐng Lee, with 35,000 views, and content involving Matt Hardy, Elayna Black, and Nic Nemeth also made the top five list.

While the television numbers dipped, TNA still maintained digital engagement across its audience, showing that interest in the product remains active beyond cable ratings alone.
