Tessa Blanchard appears at a wrestling event, as reports say TNA let her out of her contract early

Tessa Blanchard Left TNA Deal Early

Fightful report says Blanchard was let out halfway through three-year contract

Summary

– Tessa Blanchard was reportedly let out of her TNA contract around the halfway point

– Fightful Select reported that Blanchard had been under a three-year deal with TNA

– MLW is not believed to be in contact with Blanchard despite online speculation

Tessa Blanchard’s TNA exit has another major detail attached to it.

According to Fightful Select, Blanchard was under a three-year contract with TNA before the company let her out of the deal early. The report stated that her exit came around the halfway point of that agreement.

“Sources familiar to the situation claimed that Blanchard was under a three year deal with TNA, so they ended up letting her out about halfway through the contract.”

That makes the situation different from a simple contract expiration. Blanchard still had significant time left on her deal when TNA allowed her to leave.

Fightful also addressed speculation that MLW could be a landing spot for Blanchard. According to the report, MLW has not had contact with her recently.

“There were commenters mentioning MLW as a possibility, but we’re told as of now, they haven’t had contact with Blanchard and haven’t in years.”

That shuts down one rumored option for now. While fans have mentioned MLW online, there is currently no indication that the promotion is involved.

Blanchard’s TNA departure has already been connected to her work with CMLL. Previous reports stated that TNA had considered reworking her deal and offering more money because CMLL was also booking her and paying her more.

The issue was that a new TNA deal would have reportedly prevented Blanchard from continuing with CMLL. That created a difficult situation because her original understanding with TNA allowed her to keep working in Mexico.

Blanchard has said that when she signed with TNA, the agreement allowed her to work with CMLL while also being part of TNA. That arrangement worked for a period of time before leadership changes, partnerships, network deals, and company direction shifted.

Dave Meltzer previously noted that Blanchard may have been affected by the larger promotional battle in Mexico. WWE now owns AAA, while TNA works with WWE, which complicated Blanchard’s connection to CMLL.

The latest update adds another layer to the story. Blanchard was not simply finishing out her contract. TNA let her leave early while she still had major time left on the deal.

For now, her next move remains unclear. MLW does not appear to be in the picture, and her future will likely depend on how her CMLL work and other opportunities line up after leaving TNA.
