Former producer reportedly expected creative talks before termination
Summary
– Sami Callihan was reportedly terminated by TNA after expecting a call about a creative role
– Callihan was said to be well-liked as an agent, producer, and backstage contributor
– His exit adds to a growing list of recent TNA departures
Sami Callihan’s departure from TNA Wrestling has become more complicated after new backstage details surfaced.
According to Fightful Select, Callihan believed a company call was going to be about him possibly taking over creative duties. Instead, he learned that his time with TNA was over.
The report noted that people within TNA had pushed for Callihan to be added to the creative team for months. Sources from both staff and roster sides reportedly viewed him positively as an agent and producer.
Callihan had been doing more than appearing backstage. After stepping away from full-time in-ring work, he was producing matches, working as an agent, helping with marketing, and contributing to TNA’s merchandise efforts.
He was also credited with designing and producing much of the company’s merchandise over the past year. That made his role broader than that of a typical former wrestler working behind the scenes.
The timing stands out because TNA has already seen several notable exits. Tommy Dreamer is no longer part of the company’s creative team, while Delirious is now expected to be the main creative point person moving forward.
Tessa Blanchard, Steve Maclin, Myla Grace, and others have also recently exited or requested to leave. Callihan’s departure adds another major name to that stretch of movement.
Callihan is expected to continue running Pro Wrestling Revolver, so his work outside TNA is not ending. Still, his exit marks another backstage shakeup for a company already dealing with several changes.
