Aalyah Gutierrez has officially begun her WWE journey after months of training and considering whether professional wrestling was the right career for her.
According to PWInsider, Rey Mysterio’s 24-year-old daughter has started at the WWE Performance Center and is now included on its internal roster. WWE currently lists her under her given surname, Gutierrez, rather than the Mysterio name used by her father and brother, Dominik.
Her addition to the roster marks a significant step beyond the temporary training visits she previously completed. Reports in July indicated that she was preparing to begin working regularly at the Performance Center after participating in several sessions.
Rey previously revealed that his daughter spent two weeks following WWE’s full Monday-to-Friday training schedule. The trial allowed her to experience the demands of the Performance Center before committing to wrestling.
“She did two weeks, and she really loved it,” Rey said.
Gutierrez began exploring the possibility of wrestling after graduating from the University of California, San Diego with a degree in Human Biology. Rey had promised to take her inside the ring once she completed her education.
“She showed me the diploma, and it was, ‘Okay, I’m ready,’” Rey recalled.
Aalyah initially trained with her father in October 2025 before completing another two-week stint at the Performance Center in February. Her continued enthusiasm convinced the family that she was ready to pursue the opportunity more seriously.
Rey said both training experiences went well and that his daughter was preparing to establish herself at the Performance Center. That next phase has now officially started.
It remains unclear whether Gutierrez will become her permanent wrestling name or if WWE will eventually introduce her as another member of the Mysterio family. The company has not announced when she could make her television debut.
Rey and Dominik previously became the first father-and-son Tag Team Champions in WWE history. Their relationship later turned into a major rivalry that culminated in them facing each other at WrestleMania.
Rey believes his daughter’s entering the wrestling business could create another historic opportunity for the family. Aalyah must now begin developing her own identity while following the path established by her father and brother.
