TripleMania 34 night two gets a major championship attraction
Summary
– Rey Mysterio confirmed the AAA Mega Championship will be defended at TripleMania 34 night two
– The Mexico City event is scheduled for September 13, after night one takes place in Las Vegas
– Dominik Mysterio could defend against El Grande Americano if he remains champion
Rey Mysterio has confirmed a major championship match for TripleMania 34.
During WWE AAA programming, Mysterio announced that the AAA Mega Championship will be defended on night two of TripleMania 34 in Mexico City. The announcement adds another major attraction to AAA’s biggest event of the year.
TripleMania 34 is scheduled as a two-night event this September. Night one will take place in Las Vegas on September 11, while night two will be held in Mexico City on September 13.
Dominik Mysterio is currently the AAA Mega Champion after defeating El Hijo Del Vikingo at Worlds Collide last September. That puts Dominik in a position to defend the title at TripleMania if he still holds the championship by then.
El Grande Americano is also waiting for his opportunity. He earned a future AAA Mega Championship match after winning the Rey De Reyes tournament.
Dominik Mysterio vs. El Grande Americano appears to be the likely direction for TripleMania 34 night two. WWE and AAA have not officially confirmed that match, but the setup is clearly moving in that direction.
Rey Mysterio’s announcement gives the Mexico City card a major title match and puts the AAA Mega Championship in the spotlight for TripleMania 34.
