El Hijo del Vikingo pushes champion through rapid title defense
Summary
– Rey Fenix retained the AAA Cruiserweight Championship against El Hijo del Vikingo on WWE SmackDown
– Vikingo pushed the pace early with quick counters and high-risk offense
– Fenix survived the late surge and won with the Mexican Muscle Buster
Rey Fenix remains AAA Cruiserweight Champion after another wild title defense on WWE SmackDown.
Fenix put the championship on the line against El Hijo del Vikingo, and both men wasted little time turning the match into a sprint. Vikingo tried to steal the win early with a roll-up, while Fenix answered with quick offense from the ropes.
The challenger found momentum on the outside when he trapped Fenix in the ring skirt, then followed with a slide and a springboard asai moonsault. That sequence gave Vikingo control and forced the champion to fight from underneath.
Fenix responded inside the ring with a top-rope walk into a kick to the back of the head, followed by a frog splash. Vikingo kept pushing back with a meteora in the corner and a hurricanrana from the top rope.
The closing stretch gave both men room to take big chances. Vikingo landed another major hurricanrana from the ring post, but Fenix avoided the springboard 450 that could have ended the match.
Fenix caught his opening and hit the Mexican Muscle Buster to secure the victory. The win marked another successful WWE SmackDown defense for the AAA Cruiserweight Champion.
