Raquel Rodriguez is already thinking about adding more championship gold after becoming WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
During an appearance on Busted Open, Rodriguez reflected on her championship victory and the bloody image of her holding the title after the match. She said the moment represented the blood, sweat, and tears that went into becoming a singles champion in WWE again.
Rodriguez revealed that she briefly struggled to breathe during the match because blood was running down her face and into the back of her throat. Once she realized she could safely continue, she became even more determined to finish the match and embrace the moment.
She also discussed the work she has put into improving inside the ring. Rodriguez said she trains with Dan Davis in Louisiana, visits Natalya’s training facility when possible, and studies older wrestling matches as well as international wrestling.
Rodriguez credited WWE live events with helping her improve through repetition and experience. She said she has actively asked to work more events because those matches give her additional opportunities to improve and build connections with fans.
The conversation eventually shifted toward the WWE Women’s World Championship and her Judgment Day partner, Liv Morgan. Rodriguez revealed that she and Morgan had previously discussed the possibility of Rodriguez becoming Women’s World Champion.
Rodriguez made it clear that she sees another championship run as part of her future. She joked that God did not give her two big shoulders to carry one championship and said she believes she could hold both titles at the same time.
Despite the possibility of eventually pursuing a championship Morgan holds, Rodriguez does not believe it would create problems between them. She said they have been partners for more than three years and described their relationship as being like sisters.
Rodriguez believes Morgan would support her becoming Women’s World Champion just as she has supported Morgan throughout her championship success.
