Sony releases accessory firmware without patch notes

Sony has quietly released a firmware update for PS5 accessories, but the company has not provided patch notes.
The update affects the Pulse Elite headset and PlayStation Link device software. Players began reporting connection problems after the firmware rollout on September 21.
The issue appears to involve synchronization between the Pulse Elite headset and the PlayStation Link device. Some players may need to update the Link software to restore the connection manually.
To do that, connect the Pulse Elite headset with a USB-C cable. Then open Settings, select Accessories, choose General, enter PS Link Support, and select PS Link Device Software Update.
After installing the available updates, the PlayStation Link dongle should pair with the Pulse Elite headset.
Sony is also preparing a replacement for the Pulse Elite. The PlayStation Pulse Wireless headset is scheduled to launch in early 2027 and will work with existing PlayStation Link dongles.
Sony has not explained the cause of the connection problems or provided additional details about the latest accessory firmware.
