WWE star chose to skip major TV opportunity due to discomfort with swimsuit role

Summary

– Nikki Bella turned down a Baywatch audition due to lack of confidence wearing a swimsuit

– She said she prefers opportunities where she feels fully confident, like wrestling

– Bella emphasized self-confidence and ignoring public criticism about her appearance

Nikki Bella has revealed why she passed on a potential role in the upcoming Baywatch reboot: it came down to confidence.

On The Nikki and Brie Show, Bella shared that she was offered the chance to audition for the series. However, once she considered the demands of the role, she chose not to move forward.

Bella explained that the idea of consistently wearing a swimsuit made her uncomfortable, leading her to step away from the opportunity before the process went any further.

Rather than forcing herself into a situation where she did not feel fully confident, she decided to focus on areas where she feels strongest. Bella pointed to her time in the ring as an example, noting that performing in her wrestling gear brings out her highest level of confidence.

She also addressed how she handles criticism about her appearance. Bella noted that recent comments about her body did not affect her negatively, but instead reinforced her mindset and self-acceptance.

The Baywatch reboot she referenced is currently in production as a 12-episode Fox series set for the 2026–27 television season. Filming is taking place in Venice Beach and Century City, with a cast that includes Stephen Amell, Shay Mitchell, and several returning names from the original series.

Even though Bella declined the opportunity, her comments provided insight into how she approaches career decisions. Confidence remains a key factor, and she continues to prioritize roles and environments where she feels at her best.
