SmackDown GM refuses to speculate about future matches
Summary
– Nick Aldis is focused only on facing GUNTHER at WWE SummerSlam
– Aldis has no expectations about continuing his wrestling career afterward
– WWE reportedly views the match as a one-time appearance for now
Nick Aldis is refusing to look beyond his upcoming match against GUNTHER at WWE SummerSlam. Despite speculation about a longer return to active competition, the SmackDown General Manager remains focused on delivering a strong performance.
During an interview with MuscleMan Malcolm, Aldis was asked whether preparing for GUNTHER had renewed his interest in wrestling regularly. Aldis said his complete attention remains on SummerSlam and the challenge directly ahead of him.
Aldis explained that he accepted the opportunity without expecting it to create additional matches. His primary goal is to perform at a level that reflects his experience, reputation, and past accomplishments.
The former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion also acknowledged that several factors could influence what happens afterward. Fan reaction, WWE’s creative plans, and available opportunities could all shape his future, but Aldis believes those decisions remain outside his control.
Aldis never expected to receive this match and has no interest in planning another chapter before completing the current one. His only concern is proving that he can still deliver against one of WWE’s most dominant competitors.
WWE reportedly considers Aldis versus GUNTHER to be a one-time appearance, though a standout performance and strong audience response could change those plans. Aldis is leaving that possibility alone until after the final bell at SummerSlam.
