Tony D’Angelo and Naraku came face-to-face on the June 16 episode of WWE NXT, and the tension quickly became personal.
Naraku welcomed Tony to the meeting and presented a contract from Stone. Tony made it clear he was not interested in wasting time, especially with Naraku standing as the number one contender.
Tony said he had done his research on Naraku’s past in Japan. He brought up Naraku, holding a major championship there, along with several other title reigns.
Tony also accused Naraku of leading a group that caused chaos in Japanese wrestling. He said Naraku built his reputation by winning at any cost and letting others do his bidding.
Naraku told Tony not to judge him by his past. He said Tony should look at the warrior standing before him today.
Tony did not back down. He called Naraku an evil man who left Japan for one reason: Tony’s title.
The exchange became sharper when Tony pointed out that Naraku came to NXT alone. Tony said Naraku moved across the world for something he could not accomplish on his own.
Naraku did not sign the contract during the meeting. Instead, he said he would return it signed next week.
Tony asked if Naraku was ready for war. Naraku issued a simple warning: evil is coming.
