Marvelous has confirmed that Muramasa: Revenant Blades will launch for PlayStation 5 on February 4, 2027.
The remastered action RPG brings Muramasa: Rebirth to modern PlayStation hardware after its original release on PlayStation Vita. Vanillaware’s acclaimed sword-fighting adventure returns with updated visuals and additional features.
Revenant Blades combines the complete base game with all four stories from the Genroku Legends downloadable content. Players will follow six protagonists across separate journeys set during Japan’s supernatural Genroku era.
Kisuke and Momohime lead the original campaign, while Okoi, Gonbe, Arashimaru, and Rajyaki headline the additional stories. Each character has different goals, abilities, and combat styles.
The PS5 edition features high-definition graphics, refined sword combat, and newly recorded English voice acting. Players can chain attacks, parry enemies, deflect projectiles, and switch between mastered skills during battles.
Additional content includes an art gallery, a character viewer, and a replay mode. A classic mode will also preserve the gameplay experience from the PlayStation Vita release.
Muramasa: Revenant Blades gives returning players the complete package while opening the door for a new audience. The confirmed release date places another notable action RPG on the PS5 calendar for early 2027.
