Young Bucks wanted crossover match with WWE stars
Summary
– Matt Jackson said The Young Bucks spoke with Triple H about a possible Elite vs New Day match
– The proposed crossover would have featured The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega against Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods
– Jackson said the match never came together despite serious interest from The Elite
Matt Jackson says The Young Bucks once had direct talks with Triple H about making an Elite vs New Day match happen.
Jackson discussed the idea during the latest episode of Being The Elite while reviewing footage involving Kenny Omega and The New Day. He said The Young Bucks were serious about putting together a crossover match featuring themselves and Omega against Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods.
According to Jackson, WWE told them they were working on their side of the situation. The Young Bucks were also speaking with their own bosses at the time in hopes of finding a way to make the match possible.
Jackson said the talks reached the point where they got on the phone with Triple H in 2018. He explained that they told Triple H they wanted the match, though he felt Triple H may have been more interested in bringing The Young Bucks into WWE than simply booking the crossover.
The match never came together, but the idea had a strong appeal because both groups already had a connection through gaming. The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and The New Day had played against each other in several public video game tournaments and shared those moments through vlogs and social media.
While the crossover never became an official wrestling match, Jackson’s comments show that the idea was more than just a fan fantasy. The Elite and The New Day had real interest in making it happen, but the timing and business side never lined up.
