Liv Morgan says she went into WrestleMania 42 dealing with a painful injury from a backstage segment gone wrong.

Morgan discussed the incident during an interview with Gino Salomone of GinoTV. She said the moment happened while she was speaking with Roxanne Perez inside The Judgment Day clubhouse during the build to her Women’s World Championship match against Stephanie Vaquer.

According to Morgan, Vaquer entered the clubhouse and shoved her from behind. Morgan said the shove caused her and Perez to crash heads, leaving Morgan with a large hematoma.

Morgan said the injury caused blood to drain down her face, which led to two black eyes. Despite that, she still competed at WrestleMania 42 and defeated Vaquer for the Women’s World Championship.

The injury added another layer to Morgan’s WrestleMania story. She called the moment iconic, pointing out that she won on WWE’s biggest stage while dealing with visible damage from the accident.

Morgan and Perez both avoided a more serious outcome from the collision, but the scare created concern before WrestleMania. Morgan’s title win became even more memorable because of what she had to push through before the match.
