La Hiedra and Laredo Kid captured the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championships at Verano de Escándalo.
The title match took place during the July 25 event from Arena San Marcos in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana entered the match as champions, while Hiedra looked to regain a title she previously held alongside Iguana.
Laredo Kid and Iguana opened the match by exchanging pinning combinations.
The pace quickly became more aggressive when Laredo slapped Iguana across the face.
Iguana responded with an armbar and a dropkick before the women entered the match.
Vice used kicks and open-hand strikes to prevent Hiedra from gaining control.
Hiedra eventually changed the momentum outside the ring by hitting Vice with a stunner.
The champions nearly retained after Iguana connected with a springboard headbutt and a crucifix driver.
Laredo answered with a Michinoku Driver and a 450 splash, but Iguana kicked out.
Vice later hit Hiedra with a superkick and appeared close to securing the victory.
Laredo broke up the pin before Iguana sent him outside with an Iguanarana.
Laredo recovered and drove Iguana into the steel steps, leaving Vice alone with Hiedra.
Hiedra took advantage by planting Vice face-first into the mat and scoring the three-count.
The victory officially crowned La Hiedra and Laredo Kid as the new AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champions.
Hiedra had previously failed to regain the championship with other partners, but Laredo proved to be the partner she needed.
