WWE says Grey suffered vestibular system disruption
Summary
– Kendal Grey is out of action following an injury suffered at NXT Heatwave
– WWE medical staff ruled out a concussion after Grey experienced vertigo
– Doctors discovered a vestibular system disruption affecting her balance and awareness
Kendal Grey is officially sidelined after suffering an injury during her NXT Women’s Championship match at Heatwave.
WWE confirmed the update during the September 1 episode of NXT, with Vic Joseph explaining that Grey developed vertigo after repeatedly taking contact to the affected area during her match against Kelani Jordan.
Medical staff ruled out a concussion, which Joseph described as positive news.
Doctors did, however, discover a disruption to Grey’s vestibular system. That system helps control balance and spatial awareness, making the issue serious enough to keep her out of competition.
Joseph confirmed that Grey will be unavailable for the foreseeable future, although WWE did not provide a specific timetable for her return.
Grey was injured during her NXT Women’s Championship match against Jordan at Heatwave on August 30.
The finish came after Grey struck an exposed turnbuckle, allowing Jordan to capitalize and win the championship.
While avoiding a concussion is encouraging, Grey will still need medical clearance before she can return to the ring.
WWE has not indicated how long the recovery process could take, leaving Grey’s return date uncertain for now.
