Kelly Kelly has revealed why she turned down an opportunity to pose for Playboy during her early WWE career.
Speaking on the LayTalk podcast, Kelly discussed the offer after Layla recalled that the members of Extreme Exposé had been approached about appearing in the magazine.
Kelly confirmed that WWE asked her to participate, but she was only around 21 years old at the time. Before making a decision, she spoke with her family about the opportunity.
Her family supported whatever choice she made, but Kelly said she continued thinking about how the photos could remain online forever. She already knew she wanted to have children someday, and that played a major role in her decision.
Kelly ultimately decided that posing for Playboy was not something she could feel comfortable doing.
She remembered that Brooke Adams, another member of Extreme Exposé, might have been more inclined to accept the opportunity. Kelly said Adams would have been a great fit and recalled her jokingly encouraging Kelly to take part.
Layla also remembered a meeting with all three members of Extreme Exposé and John Laurinaitis, during which the offer was discussed.
Kelly’s decision came down to what she believed was best for her future. WWE and her family gave her the freedom to choose, but she felt the potential long-term impact outweighed the opportunity.
Looking back, Kelly does not appear to regret passing on the offer. She trusted her instincts and chose not to make a decision she believed could follow her for the rest of her life.
