Joe Doering has passed away after a long battle with brain cancer.
Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling announced on June 26, 2026, that Doering died peacefully at 9:13 a.m. while surrounded by his family. He was 44 years old.
The promotion honored Doering’s life and noted that he packed a tremendous amount of living into his time. He is survived by his wife, Lindsay, as well as his family, friends, and fans around the world.
Doering’s passing came shortly after his family shared that he was preparing to enter hospice care. His sister-in-law, Mandy Banh, posted an update on his GoFundMe page on June 23 asking for prayers and support.
Doering had been battling his third brain tumor. He was first diagnosed in 2016, and in 2022, he revealed that the cancer had returned and that he needed surgery again.
His health challenges became even more difficult after brain surgery on his brain stem in 2022. That procedure led to ataxia on his right side, which affected his mobility and left him relying mostly on a wheelchair.
Despite those struggles, his family said Doering remained determined, focused, and in good spirits. He continued working through physiotherapy while facing daily challenges with movement.
Doering built a respected career in several major wrestling promotions. He worked for TNA Wrestling, had a brief WWE developmental run in 2010, and became a two-time Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion in All Japan Pro Wrestling.
He later returned to TNA in 2020 as part of Violent By Design. His size, toughness, and presence made him a memorable figure wherever he competed.
Doering leaves behind a legacy of strength and respect. His fight outside the ring showed the same courage that defined much of his wrestling career.
