Eric Bischoff believes recent changes to WWE replays on Netflix resemble the censorship issues he faced during WCW’s time under Turner.
During 83 Weeks, Bischoff and Conrad Thompson discussed WWE footage appearing different in replay, including moments in which blood was removed after the original broadcast.
Bischoff recalled Turner executives previously ordering WCW to eliminate blood from footage, even when the matches had already aired or been recorded for pay-per-view.
He suggested WWE could be dealing with a similar post-production process, though he stopped short of claiming that Netflix or WWE had issued a specific order.
Recent examples include the removal of Royce Keys’ blood from a Raw replay. WWE’s Night of Champions replay also reportedly blurred Bron Breakker’s bloody face and used different camera angles.
Roman Reigns’ Raw entrance was altered as well, with Netflix reportedly cutting away after a fan appeared to flip him off.
Thompson emphasized that neither he nor Bischoff had contacted anyone inside WWE or Netflix for confirmation. He said they were only discussing the situation based on what fans had noticed.
Bischoff’s comparison highlights how WWE’s live broadcasts and streaming replays may not always present identical footage. The reason for those changes remains unclear.
