Enzo Amore and Big Cass may be moving closer to a WWE reunion.

Dave Meltzer addressed the situation in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter after recent reports suggested the former NXT and WWE tag team could return to the company.

Meltzer wrote that William Morrissey, known in WWE as Big Cass and in AEW as Big Bill, appears to be headed toward WWE after giving notice to AEW.

Big Bill had not been used much in AEW after The Learning Tree storyline was dropped following Chris Jericho’s hiatus. Meltzer noted that AEW had been building toward a possible turn and feud that could have given Big Bill his biggest spotlight in the company, but that direction never happened.

Meltzer also pushed back on the idea that The Learning Tree hurt Big Bill. He noted that Big Bill was never more over in AEW than he was during that act.

As for a possible Enzo and Cass reunion, Meltzer suggested the act would likely lean on nostalgia at first. He also said Cass is now much better than he was during his original WWE run.

Meltzer added that Enzo was never known for his in-ring work, but his personality and mic skills made him stand out. He also pointed out that Enzo moved merchandise during his WWE run.

Enzo and Cass first teamed in NXT in 2013 and became one of the brand’s most popular acts. They later moved to the main roster, split in 2017, and feuded with each other.

WWE released Enzo in January 2018, while Cass was released later that year in June. If both return, it would mark their first WWE run together in nearly a decade.
