WFAN opens door for wrestling’s oddball favorite to join New York’s title celebration
Summary
– WFAN publicly invited Danhausen to be its guest at the New York Knicks championship parade
– The invite follows the Knicks ending their 53-year NBA title drought
– WWE and TKO are already involved with Danhausen x Knicks merchandise, cameras, and a possible YouTube project
Danhausen’s strange connection to the New York Knicks keeps getting bigger.
After the Knicks captured the NBA Championship, WFAN publicly invited Danhausen to attend Thursday’s championship parade in New York City as the station’s guest.
The invite added another layer to a crossover that has quickly moved beyond a simple joke. Danhausen had already become part of the Knicks’ playoff story after leaning into the idea that he “uncursed” the team.
That bit has now turned into something much larger. WWE has already launched championship merchandise for Knicks and Danhausen, while TKO is reportedly helping put together the broader partnership.
Bryan Alvarez reported that WWE cameras are expected to be at the parade. There is also a belief that the footage could be used for a YouTube documentary on the Knicks and Danhausen.
WFAN getting involved makes the moment feel even more New York. The station has its own history with wrestling-related programming, including past post-WrestleMania content connected to The Taz Show.
Danhausen has also played directly into the celebration. After the Knicks won the title, he congratulated the team and kept the “forever uncursed” message alive.
He later declared himself the king of New York and joked that the city now owed him a statue, a mural, a parade, and a giant balloon.
What started as a funny wrestling-and-basketball crossover has now become a full-blown sports entertainment moment. The Knicks have their championship, WWE has merchandise ready, TKO is involved, and Danhausen may now have a real place in the parade spotlight.
At this point, the question is not whether the crossover has gone too far. It is whether Danhausen can actually show up and steal the whole celebration.
You are cordially invited to be our guest at the parade on Thursday, @DanhausenAD! https://t.co/beS6tmqn2b
