Rhea Ripley’s injury affected Terror Twins plans
Summary
– WrestleVotes reports that Rhea Ripley’s injury influenced Damian Priest’s shift back to a heel
– WWE reportedly paired Priest with R-Truth while waiting on Ripley’s return
– A future Terror Twins reunion remains uncertain despite earlier plans to continue the pairing
Damian Priest’s turn against R-Truth reportedly followed a change in WWE’s plans involving Rhea Ripley. During an October 5 Q&A, TC of WrestleVotes said the company had wanted to continue the Terror Twins partnership before Ripley’s injury left those plans on hold.
According to TC, Priest’s direction depended partly on when Ripley could return. While WWE waited, pairing him with R-Truth and giving them a tag team championship run became an alternative.
“They like the Terror Twins a lot, and they wanted to continue the Terror Twins pairing in some form and fashion,” TC said.
Their championship run lasted a few weeks, but WrestleVotes reports that WWE eventually felt the partnership was limiting Priest. The decision then became how to move him back into a stronger individual role.
TC described Priest as a more natural heel and said turning him against Truth offered that opportunity. The split followed their tag title loss, with Priest later attacking his former partner at the WWE Performance Center.
The September 25 episode of SmackDown also emphasized Priest’s darker personality and Bronx background, further establishing his new direction.
A Terror Twins reunion remains possible, but TC did not present it as a confirmed plan. He suggested WWE could turn Priest back into a fan favorite when Ripley returns, while also acknowledging that the pairing may have been shelved depending on her situation.
The report indicates that WWE previously intended to keep Priest and Ripley connected. For now, Priest has moved into a heel role, and the future of their partnership remains unresolved.
