CM Punk is heading to NXT for a special live event appearance this weekend.
Punk announced through Instagram Stories that he will appear at the NXT live event on Saturday, August 15, at the VSU Multipurpose Center in Petersburg, Virginia.
WWE has not revealed what Punk will do during the show.
His appearance adds another major name to a lineup featuring NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo and NXT Women’s Champion Kendal Grey.
Jaida Parker, Grayson Waller, Shiloh Hill, NXT North American Champion Myles Borne, and Tavion Heights are also advertised for the event.
The show will mark NXT’s first event at the VSU Multipurpose Center, although WWE has previously held live events inside the venue.
NXT will also hold a live event in Salisbury, Maryland, on Friday, August 14.
However, Punk is not currently advertised for the Salisbury show. His announced appearance is specifically tied to the following night’s event in Petersburg.
Punk’s involvement gives fans an additional attraction beyond the regular NXT live event lineup.
With his role still unannounced, fans will have to wait until Saturday to learn what WWE has planned for him.
