Chelsea Green secured the biggest victory of her WWE career by winning the Interim WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam 2026.
Green faced Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Lash Legend, and hometown favorite Tiffany Stratton in a chaotic five-woman ladder match before a packed Minnesota crowd.
WWE introduced the interim championship after Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley suffered a torn meniscus. With Ripley sidelined, all five competitors entered SummerSlam determined to claim the title.
The match quickly became a dangerous battle filled with brutal ladder spots. Legend powerbombed Stratton onto a ladder, while Flair was left hanging above the ring before crashing onto another ladder below.
Stratton later appeared close to capturing the championship, but Green shoved the ladder out from underneath her and sent her falling over the ropes.
Green nearly won earlier in the match before B-Fab and Michin entered the ring to stop her. They trapped Green and kicked her in the head before attempting to help Cargill take control.
Flair prevented their interference from deciding the match and kept Cargill from taking advantage.
The closing moments featured three ladders inside the ring as all five women attempted to reach the championship. One by one, the competitors were knocked down until Green was the only woman left with a clear path to the title.
Green pulled herself back to her feet, climbed the ladder, and removed the championship to secure the victory.
The win gave Green her first world championship and set up a future showdown with Ripley once the injured champion is cleared to return.
Until then, Green will represent WWE’s women’s division as the Interim WWE Women’s Champion after delivering the defining victory of her career at SummerSlam.
