Summary

– Nia removed Green’s protective mask and targeted her injured face
– Tiffany Stratton stopped Lash Legend from interfering in the match
Chelsea Green survived a difficult challenge from Nia Jax to retain the WWE Women’s Championship on the September 11, 2026, episode of WWE SmackDown.
Nia controlled much of the match by using her strength to overpower Green. She repeatedly targeted the champion’s injured face and attempted to use the protective mask against her.
Green continued fighting despite the punishment. She used Nia’s momentum to connect with a hurricanrana before driving both knees into the challenger’s back.
Nia regained control with a Samoan Drop, but Green kicked out of the following pin attempt. The champion’s refusal to stay down only made Nia more aggressive.
Nia eventually ripped the protective mask from Green’s face and exposed her injury. The referee attempted to deal with Nia as Lash Legend moved toward the unprotected champion at ringside.
Tiffany Stratton stepped in and pushed Green out of danger, taking the attack from Legend herself. The distraction gave Green enough time to return to the ring and put her protective mask back on.
Nia attempted to finish the match with the Annihilator, but Green moved out of the way and sent her crashing into the mat. Green immediately followed with the Unprettier, securing the three-count.
The victory allowed Green to leave SmackDown with her championship despite Nia’s physical dominance and Legend’s attempted interference. Stratton’s involvement also prevented Green’s injured face from taking additional damage at ringside.
Green entered the match with a clear physical disadvantage, but she survived everything Nia threw at her and capitalized on the opening that decided the match.
