Summary
– Becky Lynch clarified that her Saturday Night’s Main Event match with Sol Ruca is not for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship
– WWE briefly advertised the match as a title bout before changing it back to non-title
– Lynch said Ruca has done nothing to earn a shot at her championship
Becky Lynch is clearing up the confusion around her Saturday Night’s Main Event match with Sol Ruca.
The match was set during the May 18 episode of WWE RAW after Ruca challenged Lynch directly. Lynch accepted the match, but she did not agree to put the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line.
WWE later advertised the bout as a title match, which created confusion among fans. That advertising was later pulled, and the match is once again being listed as non-title.
Lynch addressed the situation on social media, saying there was misinformation about the match. She accused the wrestling media of pushing the idea that the title should be on the line, and made it clear that it will not.
The Man also said Ruca has done nothing to earn a shot at her championship. Instead, Lynch framed the match as a test to see whether Ruca can hang with her.
Saturday Night’s Main Event takes place May 23 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana. For now, Becky Lynch versus Sol Ruca is scheduled as a non-title match.
