Avery Styles appears at TNA Lockdown in Chicago as AJ Styles’ son begins wrestling career

Avery Styles Set for TNA Lockdown

AJ Styles’ son will appear at the August 23 event in Chicago

Summary

– Avery Styles is officially scheduled to appear at TNA Lockdown

– TNA has not revealed whether Styles will compete in a match

– The appearance comes just months after he began his wrestling career

Avery Styles is officially headed to TNA Lockdown, giving the son of AJ Styles another major opportunity only months after beginning his professional wrestling career.

TNA Wrestling announced that Avery will appear at Lockdown on Sunday, August 23, from Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago. The company has not revealed what role he will have on the show, and there has been no confirmation that he will compete in a match.

The appearance carries additional significance because of AJ Styles’ history with TNA. The former TNA World Champion became one of the defining stars of the promotion while also holding the X-Division and Tag Team Championships during his lengthy run with the company.

AJ last wrestled for TNA in 2013, but later returned for appearances as the relationship between WWE and TNA expanded. Avery will now have his own opportunity to appear before the TNA audience rather than be associated with his father’s legacy.

Avery made his professional wrestling debut in June and has already started gaining experience on the independent scene, including appearances for GCW. Lockdown represents considerably larger exposure at an early stage of his career, although TNA is keeping the details of his appearance under wraps.

The August 23 event will also feature several championship matches, including The Hardys defending the TNA World Tag Team Championship against The Nemeths. Jason Hotch is scheduled to defend the TNA International Championship against Mustafa Ali, while Cedric Alexander will defend the TNA X Division Championship against Leon Slater.

Moose and Frankie Kazarian are also scheduled for an Escape The Cage match, while Elijah will face AJ Francis. With Avery now added to the event, one of the biggest questions heading into Lockdown is whether TNA plans to introduce him to its audience or use the appearance to begin something larger.
