Andy Williams will receive a permanent memorial in the North Tonawanda community where he grew up.
The planned tribute will feature a statue of Williams seated on a bench at Gratwick Riverside Park. The location is especially meaningful because Williams grew up in the Gratwick neighborhood after being born in nearby Buffalo.
Jordan Buckley, Williams’ longtime bandmate in Every Time I Die, announced the project on September 28. Fans from both of Williams’ careers can support the memorial by purchasing customized engraved bricks.
Williams died at 48 after suffering a medical emergency during an Enjoy Wrestling event in Pennsylvania earlier this month. He was competing as The Butcher alongside The Blade when he collapsed near the end of the match.
Medical personnel immediately performed CPR before Williams was transported to Allegheny General Hospital. He was later pronounced dead.
Wrestling fans knew Williams for his work with The Blade in AEW and Ring of Honor. Music fans knew him as the guitarist and founding member of Every Time I Die.
His career connected two very different worlds, but Williams brought the same energy and personality to both. The planned memorial will give fans a permanent place to remember the performer, musician, and person behind The Butcher.
The engraved-brick fundraiser also allows supporters to become part of the tribute. Each contribution will help build a memorial that brings Williams’ legacy back to the community that shaped him.
