Summary

AMC is giving UK viewers a new way to step into The Walking Dead Universe without needing another subscription.
AMC Global Media UK announced during SXSW London that a dedicated Walking Dead Universe FAST channel will launch this June. The channel will be free and ad-supported, making the franchise easier for fans to access without signing up for a paid streaming service.
The channel will launch with episodes of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead. That gives viewers a chance to revisit the original series while also following the first major spin-off that expanded AMC’s zombie world.
FAST channels work like scheduled streaming channels. Viewers can drop in and watch without searching through a full on-demand library, which helps make older and long-running franchises easier to discover.
AMC already has a growing FAST presence in the UK and Ireland. Its current lineup includes AMC Reality, AMC Cupid, Bloodline Detectives, Evidence of Evil, and Love After Lockup.
Tom Keaveney, Managing Director and EVP of AMC Global Media UK, said The Walking Dead Universe has one of the most loyal fanbases in television. He said the new channel aligns with AMC’s strategy of reaching viewers through free, ad-supported platforms while supporting broadcast television.
The move also gives AMC another way to keep The Walking Dead brand visible as the larger franchise continues to expand. Free access could bring in new fans while giving longtime viewers an easy place to return to the undead drama.
Platform partners for the channel will be confirmed separately. AMC also said more announcements about the UK rollout of The Walking Dead Universe will follow soon.
