– Paxley pinned Henley after connecting with Cemetery Drive
Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on the October 9 episode of SmackDown, defeating Fatal Influence one night before Money in the Bank.
Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid controlled stretches of the match by keeping Paxley away from her corner. The defending champions repeatedly prevented her from tagging Bliss and threatened to retain on several occasions.
Bliss helped turn the match around once she entered, delivering strikes, a DDT, and a blockbuster. Fatal Influence continued fighting back, keeping the championship contest alive as the action became increasingly chaotic.
The deciding sequence separated the champions. Bliss hit Reid with Sister Abigail on the floor, leaving Henley to face Paxley inside the ring.
Paxley connected with Cemetery Drive and pinned Henley to secure the titles.
The victory ended Fatal Influence’s reign and sent Bliss and Paxley into Money in the Bank weekend as champions. Their partnership now leads the women’s tag team division after overcoming Henley and Reid’s efforts to control the match.
