Aalyah Mysterio is reportedly moving closer to beginning her wrestling journey inside WWE’s developmental system.
PWInsider reports that Rey Mysterio’s daughter is expected to start working at the WWE Performance Center soon. The update follows several training sessions that allowed Aalyah to experience the demands of a full wrestling schedule.
Rey previously discussed her interest in wrestling during an appearance on the Six Feet Under podcast. He explained that Aalyah first entered the ring with him in October 2025 and immediately enjoyed the experience.
Rather than treating it as a one-time opportunity, Rey arranged a longer trial to determine whether she was motivated enough to train consistently. Aalyah completed two straight weeks at the Performance Center, working Monday through Friday before returning for a second week after the weekend.
Rey said she enjoyed the schedule and wanted to continue. She later returned for another two-week training period in February as she prepared for a possible longer stay at the facility.
Aalyah’s wrestling interest developed after she completed her education at the University of California, San Diego. She graduated with a degree in Human Biology in July 2025.
Rey had previously promised to take her into the ring after graduation. Once she showed him her diploma, Aalyah reminded her father of that promise and told him she was ready.
The WWE Hall of Famer admitted he never expected either of his children to follow him into professional wrestling. Dominik Mysterio has already built his own WWE career, while Aalyah may now become the next family member to enter the company’s system.
Rey has already shared several historic moments with Dominik. They became WWE’s first father-and-son Tag Team Champions before eventually facing each other at WrestleMania.
The possibility of working with Aalyah has Rey considering what another family storyline could mean. He described the opportunity as potentially historic but emphasized that his daughter must decide for herself.
Rey told Aalyah not to feel obligated to continue because of her family name. He said wrestling must be something she genuinely feels passionate about, rather than a path she follows because of pressure.
Aalyah could train for a year and decide that wrestling is not right for her, and Rey said he would support that choice. For now, she has completed her initial tests and appears ready to take the next step.
Her expected arrival at the WWE Performance Center could mark the beginning of another Mysterio entering the wrestling business.
