– Thekla has designed over 1,000 puzzles across several connected worlds

Order of the Sinking Star is officially coming to PlayStation 5 later in 2026.

Thekla, the independent studio behind Braid and The Witness, is developing the puzzle adventure.

Players begin as a Queen who becomes lost inside a mysterious palace before discovering a larger overworld.

Early challenges involve moving objects across grid-based environments while using a rewind feature to undo mistakes.

Additional characters introduce different abilities that change how each puzzle must be approached.

Valens can push objects, Tif can pull them, and Isidore can magically exchange places with objects within his line of sight.

Other areas introduce an explorer who uses colored light beams and a merchant who moves by switching places with his reflection.

The game does not feature traditional combat, but monsters still create dangerous obstacles throughout the puzzles.

Players can manipulate enemies into attacking each other or use characters with abilities that charm or resist them.

The challenge becomes more complicated when heroes from separate worlds begin working together.

Players must switch between characters and combine their powers to overcome puzzles that cannot be solved alone.

The game has been developed for approximately 10 years by a team of around 20 people.

Order of the Sinking Star includes more than 900 levels, over 1,000 puzzles, and multiple endings.

Thekla has not announced an exact PS5 release date.
