Liv Morgan is preparing to reach a major milestone outside WWE with the world premiere of Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo.
The crime thriller is scheduled to premiere during the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
Morgan appears under her real name, Gionna Daddio, and plays the missing daughter of a politician.
Her disappearance draws a corrupt Tokyo police officer and an FBI agent into a dangerous investigation.
Shun Oguri plays the troubled officer, while Lily James portrays the agent who travels to Japan in search of answers.
Their investigation leads them into Tokyo’s criminal underworld as a dangerous killer connected to the Yakuza begins pursuing them.
Takashi Miike directs the film, which continues the Bad Lieutenant series after the 1992 movie starring Harvey Keitel and the 2009 installment led by Nicolas Cage.
Morgan traveled to Japan to film her scenes after joining the international cast in 2025.
The role is expected to be the most significant dramatic performance of her acting career.
Morgan previously appeared in The Kill Room alongside Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson, and Joe Manganiello.
She also appeared in the Chucky television series before accepting the larger role in Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo.
The film does not currently have a confirmed theatrical release date beyond its festival premiere.
Morgan previously indicated that the project was targeting a fall release, with additional details expected after TIFF.
