The federal criminal case involving the man accused of stalking WWE star Liv Morgan has officially ended.

Court records from the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida show that Shawn Chan’s case was closed after a judge found him not guilty by reason of insanity. The decision followed a stipulated facts bench trial held on June 18.

The court found that Chan had been stabilized from a prior psychotic state and had been deemed competent by medical professionals. The judge also determined that his release would not create a major risk of injury to another person or serious property damage.

The ruling stated that Chan no longer posed a danger to the community or to Liv Morgan. Federal prosecutors agreed with the assessment and did not present evidence to challenge it.

Chan was then released from the custody of the United States Marshal and transferred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement because an ICE detainer was already active. Court documents noted that Chan does not oppose the immigration hold and wants to return to Canada.

The case originally drew attention because Liv Morgan is one of WWE’s most recognizable stars. With the court’s latest order, the federal criminal proceedings are now officially closed.
