– Booker T said he was focused on moving forward as a singles star in WWE
Booker T has cleared up a long-running question about Harlem Heat and WWE.
During his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker was asked whether WWE ever considered bringing Harlem Heat back together after he moved from WCW to WWE. Fans have discussed the idea for years because of Booker’s history with Stevie Ray as one of WCW’s most successful tag teams.
Booker said there were no talks about a reunion.
“Nope, that never happened. They never talked about putting a reunion together. I was moved past that by that time.”
Booker explained that returning to Harlem Heat would not have helped him move forward at that point. He had already built a major legacy with the team, but his WWE run was about proving himself in a new setting.
“I don’t think doing something like that would be taking a step forward.”
He also said his arrival in WWE was different from many other WCW names who entered the company after the buyout. Booker claimed most WCW talent had to prove themselves again, while he was handled differently.
“Everybody who came from WCW had to have a tryout, except for me.”
That makes it clear Booker did not see a Harlem Heat reunion as the right path. WWE also never pushed the idea, according to his comments.
Harlem Heat remains one of the most respected tag teams of its era, but Booker’s WWE chapter became about singles success. His focus was on creating something new instead of repeating what he had already done in WCW.
