Norman Reedus is closing one of television’s most remarkable chapters as The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon approaches its final season. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter from the set in Spain, Reedus revealed that filming is nearing completion and called the ending “a perfect way to wrap things up.”

“We’re on episode six of season four,” Reedus shared. “This incarnation of what we’re doing is wrapping up in a perfect way. It’s answering all these reasons why and what it all meant.”

The season three finale, “Solaz Del Mar,” left fans emotional as Daryl and Carol watched their chance to return home literally go up in flames. Reedus said the moment symbolizes Daryl’s inner transformation, a man haunted by his past now searching for peace.

“This show has always coincided with my life,” he said. “With season four, Daryl really goes inside himself. There’s a lot of internal fact-checking that I’m doing, and that the character is doing.”

Reedus also praised showrunner David Zabel for keeping the story authentic rather than chasing fan theories. “There was a time when people were writing for Twitter,” Reedus admitted. “But David isn’t part of that world. He’s doing something different.”

As the show’s final chapter unfolds, Reedus hinted that some of the emotional threads from Daryl’s past, including his bond with Carol, will find resolution. “There’s always more story to tell,” he said, “but this version of it is ending the right way.”
