Stipulation victory blocks Vikingo from future title challenges
Summary
– Dominik Mysterio defeated El Hijo del Vikingo to retain the AAA Mega Championship at AAA Rey de Reyes 2026
– No Disqualification stipulation meant Dominik would leave AAA if he lost
– Vikingo is now banned from challenging for the title while Dominik remains champion
Dominik Mysterio walked into AAA Rey de Reyes 2026 with his AAA Mega Championship on the line and serious consequences tied to the outcome. The champion left Puebla still holding the gold and ensured El Hijo del Vikingo would not challenge for the title again while his reign continues.
The No Disqualification main event featured a high stakes stipulation. Dominik would be forced to leave AAA if he lost the match. Vikingo faced his own risk because a defeat would bar him from future AAA Mega Championship opportunities as long as Dominik remains champion.
Weapons quickly became part of the fight as Vikingo brought kendo sticks and steel chairs into the match. The challenger used them both inside and outside the ring while attacking the champion with repeated strikes. Vikingo even smashed a garbage can over Dominik’s head to keep the pressure on.
Dominik eventually fought back with several suplexes and a Michinoku Driver to regain control. The contest continued to escalate as outside involvement disrupted the flow of the match.
Dorian Roldán attempted to assist Vikingo during the chaos, while Omos later appeared at ringside and joined the action. The situation shifted again when Vikingo climbed to the top rope wearing the championship belt around his waist and attempted a frog splash.
Dominik avoided the aerial attack and tried to build momentum with his signature 619. Omos briefly halted that comeback by grabbing Dominik and slamming him onto the ring apron before delivering a choke slam in the ring.
The momentum changed again when Mini Vikingo appeared and helped remove the giant from the equation long enough for Dominik to recover. With the interference handled, Dominik grabbed a steel chair and struck Vikingo before setting up his finishing sequence.
Dominik connected with the 619 and followed with a frog splash from the top rope to secure the pinfall victory. The result kept the AAA Mega Championship around his waist and enforced the stipulation against Vikingo.
Due to the match condition, Vikingo is now banned from challenging for the AAA Mega Championship, while Dominik remains the titleholder. The win also allows Dominik to continue competing in AAA without facing the stipulation that would have forced him out of the promotion.
