South of Midnight is expanding to more platforms as the third-person action adventure game prepares to launch on PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 later this month.

Publisher Xbox Game Studios and developer Compulsion Games confirmed the new versions will release on March 31. The title first debuted on Xbox Series and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store on April 8, 2025.

The game follows Hazel as she navigates a mysterious world rooted in Southern folklore. After a hurricane devastates her hometown of Prospero, Hazel discovers she has the power of a Weaver, a magical figure capable of repairing broken spirits and restoring balance.

Throughout the story, Hazel must confront strange creatures inspired by myth and legend as she uncovers secrets tied to her family’s past. Her journey blends supernatural storytelling with themes of identity, history, and legacy.

Gameplay focuses on action combat and exploration across different regions of the American Deep South. Hazel uses weaving magic to battle hostile entities known as Haints while also helping heal supernatural beings trapped by trauma.

The game’s setting is designed around a Southern Gothic atmosphere. Players explore the decaying yet beautiful environments of Prospero while experiencing a visual style and soundtrack influenced by the region’s cultural history.

A special version of the game titled the Weaver’s Edition will also be available. This edition includes the base game, an official art book, a soundtrack composed by Olivier Deriviere, a Boo-Hag comic created by Rob Guillory, a music video titled Songs and Tales of South of Midnight, and a documentary exploring the development of the story.

The upcoming launch will bring the fantasy adventure to a wider audience as the title continues expanding beyond its original platforms.
