Summary

– Dominik Mysterio retained his WWE Intercontinental Title against Penta in Perth

– Rusev confronted Penta before the match, staking his claim as the next challenger

– Mysterio used a hidden hammer to secure another controversial victory

Dominik Mysterio once again proved that his championship reigns are built on deceit and manipulation. Competing in Perth, Australia, the self-proclaimed “Greatest Intercontinental Champion of All Time” pulled out every dirty trick to retain his title against Penta on WWE RAW.

Before the match, Rusev confronted Penta backstage, revealing that the contest was only approved through his push to Adam Pearce. The Bulgarian Brute made it clear that once this bout ended, he was next in line for a shot at the gold.

The action started fast, with Penta launching an early assault that sent Dominik crashing through the announce table. After the break, the tide turned as Mysterio regained control, tossing Penta around ringside and mocking the crowd with his trademark arrogance. The fans rallied behind Penta, chanting “This Is Awesome” as the two exchanged momentum.

In a tribute to Eddie Guerrero, Penta attempted the Three Amigos. Still, Mysterio countered and hit the move himself—the two traded reversals until Rusev appeared at ringside, only for Penta to dive onto him. While the referee was distracted, Dominik grabbed the timekeeper’s hammer and struck Penta in the ribs before connecting with a 6-1-9 and a frog splash to retain the Intercontinental Championship.

Dominik celebrated with his WWE and AAA titles in hand, smirking as the crowd booed him out of the RAC Arena. Once again, the Judgment Day prodigy found a way to cheat his way to victory — and now, with Rusev waiting in the wings, his days as a double champion might soon be numbered.
