Randy Orton brought Dusty Rhodes into his rivalry with Cody on RAW, recalling that he wrestled Cody’s father in what Orton described as Dusty’s final match.

Orton said they met in a Texas Bull Rope Match at the 2007 Great American Bash. He claimed he “retired” Dusty, rang his bell, and kicked him in the head before leaving as the last man standing.

Orton then aimed his words at Cody, saying that if the American Dream were for Cody to become just like his father, he would make that dream come true at Crown Jewel. He also suggested Cody could call him the “Rhodes killer.”

Earlier in the segment, Orton described himself as a third-generation wrestler who was born to perform in the ring. He said he had no plans to stop, even if Cody breaks his back in their upcoming match, and joked that he would have WWE pay for the surgery needed to return.
